10 Things I’m excited about on Icon of the Seas!

Icon of the Seas will be the largest ship afloat when it debuts January 2024. With no shortage of bells and whistles, these are the 10 things I'm most excited to experience on this new vessel.

  1. The Hideaway

The Hideaway on Icon of the Seas is an enchanting retreat that offers passengers a secluded oasis amidst the lively atmosphere of the cruise ship. Tucked away on one of the upper decks, this tranquil space provides a perfect escape for those seeking a moment of relaxation and solitude. The Hideaway features comfortable seating options, including cozy loungers and suspended pods, where guests can unwind while enjoying breathtaking views of the sea. Its contemporary design, with floor-to-ceiling windows and modern decor, creates an inviting ambiance. Whether sipping a refreshing beverage from the nearby bar or simply indulging in a good book, the Hideaway on Icon of the Seas offers a serene haven for travelers to rejuvenate and find inner peace during their cruise experience.

2. Aquadome Market

The Aquadome Market on Icon of the Seas is a vibrant and immersive culinary destination that promises an exceptional dining experience for guests. Located in the heart of the ship, this innovative marketplace combines the charm of a bustling street market with the convenience of a modern food hall. With its stunning glass dome ceiling, the Aquadome Market is bathed in natural light, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere. Here, passengers can explore a wide array of culinary offerings from around the world, including diverse international cuisines, fresh seafood, gourmet delicacies, and artisanal treats. From casual grab-and-go options to sit-down restaurants, the Aquadome Market caters to every taste and preference. With its bustling energy, delectable aromas, and a feast for the senses, the Aquadome Market on Icon of the Seas is a culinary haven that brings together food enthusiasts and creates lasting memories for all who visit.

3. The Pearl

In the heart of the promenade The Pearl is a spheric structure which will boast an immersive entertainment aspect. Much is still to be learned from this structure but it will be nothing short of spectacular. The area around the Pearl including the Pearl Cafe will replace cafe promenade as the go to 24/7 coffee and snack spot on board. Gone are the days of being stuck just looking at the interior of the ship, however. The newly imagined space will feature floor to ceiling windows bringing the outside in and connecting one to the ocean. It's sure to be a popular place.

4. Aquadome

The new and transformational neighborhood is a tranquil oasis by day, where guests can take in wraparound ocean views and an awe-inspiring waterfall as they enjoy a bite or drink. By night, it becomes a vibrant hot spot, complete with restaurants, bars and the cruise line’s marquee aqua shows at the next-level AquaTheater.

5. Wizard of Oz the Musical

It looks as if Dorothy and friends are headed to the high seas! In mid March auditions were announced by Royal Caribbean productions seeking performers for The Wizard of Oz on Icon of the Seas. Rehearsals are set to begin in July!

6. Empire Supper Club

Delve into decadence at Empire Supper Club℠ — a new Central Park® restaurant that’s putting on the ritz with a taste of old New York right onboard. Indulge in an evening of extravagance with an eight-course menu of premium American cuisine, carefully curated with expertly prepared plates from caviar to wagyu. Each dish is exquisitely paired with a beverage that will elevate your experience to next-level nouveau. And every detail is carefully crafted to provide you with an unforgettable night of lavish luxury that begins with thoughtful touches before you even take your seat. All while a swanky three-piece band accompanies each course with upscale — and unexpected — renditions of modern favorites to transport you to a bygone era of sophistication and glamour. Don't miss our must-try dish — all eight courses.

7. Absolute Zero

Step into Absolute Zero, our biggest ice arena ever, reengineered for bigger feats to wow the whole family. Watch all-star performers unleash maximum axels and supersized spins. All while an immersive, digitally mapped backdrop showcases storylines beyond any you’ve imagined.

8. Izumi in the Park

Whether it’s a pre-dinner sweet treat or a mid-day sushi snack, Izumi in the Park is your destination for fresh eats in the fresh air. Pick up sushi, snap-worthy street foods and Taiyaki, the most photogenic ice cream onboard.

9. Surfside

A neighborhood made for young families from end to end, Surfside is where adults and kids ages six and under can stay and play all day. There are three water experiences, including a pool for the grownups, and steps away are dining options, a bar, the signature carousel, an arcade, Adventure Ocean, and Social020 for teens.

10. Category 6 Waterpark

Category 6 Waterpark on Icon of the Seas is a thrilling and exhilarating destination that offers an array of aquatic adventures for guests of all ages. This expansive waterpark boasts an impressive selection of high-speed water slides, towering water play structures, and interactive splash zones, ensuring endless fun and excitement.
